Doug Russell leads the Towne Insurance family of over 500 insurance professionals located across Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina, including personal and commercial risk advisors, benefits experts, and operational staff. Doug’s belief that empowered employees are inspired employees ensures that Towne Insurance can and will deliver service at the highest level to its members.
An industry veteran with more than 35 years of experience, he has held executive leadership positions with regional, national, public, and private insurance agency and brokerage firms. In each of these roles, Doug has devoted himself to ensuring the strategic and successful growth of each agency, organically and through acquisitions.
Fully embracing Towne’s dedication to serving others and enriching lives, Doug is an active member in the community. He has served as a board member of the Priority Charity Foundation, the Access College Foundation, the Hampton Roads Partnership, the Nansemond-Suffolk Academy, the American Red Cross, the Virginia Beach Neptune Festival, and the Virginia Symphony Orchestra.
