Boyd Griffin

Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer
Boyd Griffin serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Towne Insurance.   His primary responsibilities are planning, implementing, and managing the finance activities of the organization, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and mergers & acquisitions. He came to Towne Insurance in 2012 as the Chief Accounting Officer. He has been instrumental in leading and developing an accounting department for the organization.
 
Boyd began his career in public accounting, where his responsibilities included preparation of corporate taxes, financial statements, and audits. He then moved into a financial analyst role for a not-for-profit healthcare system, where he enjoyed working directly with various insurance carriers. Prior to joining Towne, Boyd served as an auditor and later became the controller of a national insurance agency.
 
He is a graduate of the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in finance.
 
Boyd is an active member of the Hampton Roads community, having served as Treasurer of the Norfolk Sertoma Club for 3 years.  He has also served as a volunteer with the Virginia Beach Sertoma Club, the Portsmouth YMCA, and Monumental United Methodist Church.
